MEREL & TONY – SATURDAY, 11/30/19 @ 1:00 PM
This year Tony received a grant from the city of Houston to develop a series of songs based on interviews with people who have been deported from the U.S. Merel and Tony will be performing selections from this project.
“A Record Of Deported Persons” is a collection of songs adapted from interviews with people who have been deported from the United States. A year in the making, “A Record” was created by Anthony Barilla in collaboration with Merel van Dijk, and will be performed with special guests. This is one of only two performances of these songs. The entire project – including the interview process, writing, recording and performance – is supported by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.
