Bagheera began as the alias of 21-year-old Houston producer Aidan Kennedy, who released a house-and-chillwave-blending full-length called 100% Panther in 2012 on France’s Plik & Plok Records. The record received raves from blogs like Aerial Noise and Neonized and scored Bagheera high-profile gigs opening for the likes of M83, Ghostland Observatory, Passion Pit, and Matthew Dear. Kennedy eventually invited his old Hebrew school friend David Elkin to join him and form Bagheera’s current incarnation as a funky electro-dance duo. Bagheera will spend 2014, continuing to make what Cat5 Magazine calls “dance music for those who give a damn about dance music.”
The artist was selected by Red Bull Sound Select to appear on their first ever 7″ which features four new artists (others include Denitia, Sene and Thurz) and will be available at 500 independent record stores around the country.
